This is THE BEST video I have seen about what to do once you land in Japan. As someone who gets very anxious about new situations/not knowing where to go or what to do (even when I've done research and I know all the info on paper) the visual guides and step by step walkthrough of the process is the most amazing thing I could have asked for! Thank you for putting in the effort to make this. I am traveling to Japan next year and this helps alleviate the anxiety! :)

Hi Maurice, I hope you see this. I am a Highschool student preparing to study abroad in Austria this upcoming fall. My exchange will last an entire year, and I will take many, MANY weekend trips, or several week trips to various European countries throughout my exchange year. I watched your Pakt review, and then your budget backpack review. My question is what are the differences for you in the two backpacks? The 80$ and 345$? Would you think investing in a Pakt would be wiser, considering the upcoming events in my life? Or could I get by with a cheaper one? Thank you.

Hi. I have 2 questions. I read that the shoulder straps are rough and their edges cut into ones chest-skin. Also the bag surface is a magnet for lint, dog and cat hair and is difficult to remove without a lint roller. Do you have any thoughts on these issues

Would be nice to have a do it all sling, but I had to retire my messenger bag and go to backpacks because of long term back issues.

I would like to offer another idea, for your consideration: FOR CRYING OUT LOUD, do you REALLY need "a pocket or strap or whatever for EACH AND EVERY thing you carry around with you?" GOOD GRIEF! All of the "organization" in these things just WASTES SPACE, as if you just absolutely COULD NOT "dig" for a few seconds into just one, big pouch. There are "Stand-up Zipper Bags" from Klein Tools, and likely other companies, that will hold some amount of stuff, without a dozen different pockets and straps and so on. For instance, I have a rather large Anker power bank, along with a high-power charger, several USB cables, a short extension cord, and so on -- just "in a bag" like these. I use a couple of those bags for my overall "organization," and I can fit whatever I want into bags like that. In the end, I have DRAWERS full of old, unused "organizers" like those mentioned here -- but what I USE are a couple of these Klein Tools bags.

Pen/stationery nerd here. On the high-end EDC pen if you REALLY wanna go first-class, the Pilot Vanishing Point in Matte Black. 18k nib, completely blacked out except for the nib, which, as it says on the tin, is _retractable_ with a little door inside the tip to keep the nib wet. The clicky bit satisfies your fidget needs, the retractable bit means it's one of a small handful of FPs I consider truly EDC (along with my TWSBIs, and for the low end, Platinum Preppys, which sadly don't come blacked out)... Platinum Carbon Black or deAtramentis Document Black both perform well enough on anything from Clairefontaine to cheap-ass thermal credit-card slips... you can't write NCR cheques with an FP but that's about all you *can't* do. (If you gotta go non-FP, the Kaweco is good, but I'd swap the refill for a Uni to get much better ink...) Speaking of Uni, the Uni-ball One F in Faded Black completely outclasses the Sharpie for another buck-fifty US; the ink is the Guinness Book holder for the Blackest Ink *and* it's waterproof, fraud-resistant, and generally indestructible. Also, that clip reminds me of your beloved Lamys but is FAR more functional. Even if it didn't click - which it does - the CLIP is an amazing fidget. AND it looks about as indestructible as the ink! One also notes that the F only comes in 0.38mm, but an 0.5mm refill is available. I have my own requirement... I have a BIG dome... and hats that "fit" often don't have the appropriately sized brim, unless it's a wide brim hat, and they often have such a hard, flat brim edge that it pushes into my forehead and causes pain. How does your hat work for larger heads, and how does it look?

Maurice I’ve been trying to find a sling to take on a trip to Hawaii with my wife, but their are so many out there and some are very expensive.
